Herocross Rex & Hamm

Today I’m going to show you the Herocross Rex & Hamm figures. I pre-ordered them direct from Herocross a couple of months ago, they were shipped to me on Monday and arrived yesterday! Their shipping is FAST!

Anyway, the first thing that struck me when they arrived is their size! Rex especially is so big and amazing! The box has a Rex design all around it, and the inner walls of the box are designed to look like his skin too. On the back of the box, it shows what’s included.

They come packed in a plastic carton tray inside the box and you items you get are Rex, Hamm, the rocket and two black straps (for attaching the rocket to Buzz if you have him), and a little plastic rod for moving Rex’s eyes (but I’ll talk more about that later).

Let’s start by looking at the rocket! It’s fairly light weight plastic and the design around it is really detailed and authentic. It comes with two black rubber straps for attaching it to Buzz like in the movie. I haven’t had a go at doing it with my Buzz yet but looking forward to giving it a try!

Now let’s look at Hamm! He is made of plastic and you can twist his head and legs into different positions. When I first took mine out the box, he wouldn’t stand and kept tipping forward, but once I adjusted the legs a little, he was fine. The detail on him is really nice, and I forgot to take a photo of him underneath but he does have his cork too (though it’s molded on, you can’t remove it). I do find him a little restrictive for taking photos as it’s hard to get him from angles where you can see his face etc nicely but that’s just going to be something that I just need to practice a bit and work out his best angles ?

Rex is of course the key piece from this set and he is incredible! He is so big and heavy (but not in a bad way, just in the sense that you can see how well made and what good quality he is) and I love the attention to detail on his texturing. His legs can bend and pose really well, and his cute little arms move too. His head can tilt a bit up and down, and his mouth opens nice and wide to show off those lovely teeth when he roars 😉 In theory, you can move his eyes into different positions too and you are meant to be able to do this by using the little plastic rod and inserting it into his mouth to hook into the eye pegs, and move them up or down etc. However, his eyes are SO tight. I haven’t been able to move them yet so I’m going to have to try using a little oil or something to try and loosen them a bit. It’s a little annoying but I’m hopeful I’ll be able to sort it out so I’m not too worried.

All in all, I am absolutely thrilled with them and can’t wait to take loads more photos of them. The next Herocross member to join or gang soon will be Lotso whom I’ve got on pre-order, so I’ll be sure to post about him too when he arrives 🙂
